Okagbare qualifies for IAAF 100m second round

Nigeria Sprint queen, Blessing Okagbare on Saturday finished second within 11.22 seconds in her heat to qualify for the second round of 2017 International Association of Athletics Federations, IAAF, World Championships in London.

Okagbare falls behind Tori Bowie of United States in Heat 3, who ran 11.05 seconds to win the heat while Ivet Lalova-Collio of Bulgaria came third in 11.31 seconds, and Britain’s Desiree Henry came fourth in 11.32 seconds.

It was however not good news for Nigeria’s Edose Ibadin who crashed out in the first round of the men’s 800m (Heat 1) after finishing sixth with 1:46.51seconds.

Kenya’s Kipyegon Bett (1:45.76 secs), Sweden’s Andreas Kramer (1:45.98secs) and Drew Windle of U.S. (1:46.08 secs) finished in the first, second and third respectively.
